Fro Factory is inspired by the upbringings of founder, Briana Green’s childhood. Her great grandmother was a huge influence on her desire to peruse a fashion career. She spent her days watching Briana and other cousins, crocheting, and sewing garments of her own. And her great grandmother always dressed with poise and grace. It wasn’t until sophomore year of high school that Briana registered for clothing construction class and has been sewing ever since. After obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh in March of 2016, Briana’s style aesthetic is influenced by 70’s and 80’s silhouettes

and prints. Throughout the course she discovered a love for digital textile design, which has become the heart of every collection.

Since her early teen years she wore her voluminous Afro despite of others opinions. Through this she wants show the world that there is not a single depiction of what a beautiful woman is, there are many. Style, confidence, and a voice for those who aren’t afraid to step out of their shell is what Fro Factory symbolizes.

Fro Factory’s Fall/ Winter 2016 Collection is inspired by the contrast of warm and cool, alongside the juxtaposition of hard and soft. The FA/ WI ‘16 collection contrasts textiles and delivers a vivid color palate.
